 These missionary stockings are so cute & they only cost about $3-$4 to make . . . even less if you want to make the stockings & ties from scratch. But I'm all about time savers, so the couple of dollars extra is worth it to me.

Patriotic Home Decor

I love to decorate for holidays, don't you? I'm feeling especially patriotic this year & it was fun to put up some 4th of July decorations. Here in Utah we also celebrate the 24th of July, or "Pioneer Day" as well. 

I found this old flag at a shop that sells "funky junk". Why is it that old flags hold so much charm? And here's a little secret for you. If all else fails & I need something else to add to my decorations, I use candy. You can almost always find it in the wrapper colors you need. 

This entry area is where I usually put seasonal stuff. The red clock gets moved from room to room, but it also works for Valentine's Day & Christmas.

Another idea - use books in the colors you need to elevate accessories to various heights. 

Home Made Ice Cream

| HOME MADE ICE CREAM | It's been quite a while since we've made it & I had forgotten how delicious it is! Really easy to make too!

HOME MADE ICE CREAM RECIPE

• 4 cups whole milk
• 2 cups heavy cream
• 1 can sweetened condensed milk
• 1 can evaporated milk
• 1 small package instant vanilla pudding
• 2 Tbsp. vanilla
• 1/3 cup sugar
• Whatever else you want to add - we've used strawberries or peaches & we love both!

We use an electric Rival ice cream machine. Layer ice & rock salt in the ice cream machine. When it stops turning, it is ready! Enjoy!

Fall Porch Decor

What's green & white & orange all over? My fall porch! This is the kind of wreath that looks good from September through November. 

White pumpkins are really having a moment. One nice thing about them is that they transition beautifully from Halloween to Thanksgiving. I've also observed that their stems often fall off at the store before you buy them. Since I LOVE the stems, I fish them out of the bottom of the pumpkin box & hot glue them back on!
