Halloween Porch Decor
Happy Halloween from Wheadon House!
I have always enjoyed decorating the front of my house for the kiddos in the neighborhood. When my children were small, we would drive by our favorite "Halloween houses" on the way home just for the simple pleasure of seeing them. I like to say that these his & hers skeletons are a likeness of Honey & I in a few years! He he. {Click the blue bar below for more . . . }

My Friendsgiving Dinner
The minute I heard of "Friendsgiving", I knew I wanted to host one. So I whipped up this invitation & sent, to 13 of my favorite people & a dinner party was born!{Please feel free to use this invitation & feel in your own details. It was formatted for a 5X7 size.}
I really wanted it to be a "sit down" dinner, so we moved some furniture & set up Mom's old table as well as our usual dining room table. My friend Heidi called Mom's table the "kid's table" {and I KNEW she would! LOL!}. But I thought it turned out pretty for a kid's table . . .{Click the blue bar below to see more}

Rustic Luxe Christmas Decor
Merry Christmas! I've had a busy December & I'm sure you have too. As I was getting ready to put up our tree, my plan was to use the red & white decor I used last year. {See it here.} Then, at the last second, I had a change of heart & I ended up doing something different. It ended up being a woodland/luxe type vibe. I really like mixing things that are opposites & this is an example of that . . . rustic/woodsy mixed with glitter & metallics.

Our Thanksgiving Tablescape
How was your Thanksgiving? We enjoyed delicious food & quality time with our wonderful family. But my favorite part of hosting is preparing the Thanksgiving table. You know how I love unconventional color schemes for holidays & I was excited to jump "neutral train". So I left the conventional orange & rust behind & decorated with white & green instead.

Sweet Valentine's Day Decor
Please note: this post is sponsored by Rod Works. I received merchandise in exchange for publication of this post. All the opinions shared are my own - they are honest & open.
I discovered Rod Works quite a while back & I've always loved it. I used to driveall the way down to Lehi just to shop their unique selection, but luckily there is now a Sandy location. They have great home accessories & really fun seasonal decor . . . like what you see here in this Valentine's Day vignette. {CLICK BELOW TO READ MORE}

Merry Christmas from Wheadon House PLUS A Fresh Approach for Your Christmas Decor
It's a white Christmas here in Utah & I am having so much fun decorating for the holidays in our new home.
I did want to share something I learned during the move though. I had too much seasonal decor! It wasn't until we started packing & moving it that I realized how much. So, I thinned it out to my very favorite stuff & I'm working on using some of my everyday accessories - with a twist - for Christmas. Take the Marlow pitcher {from Pottery Barn} above. It stays on my entry way table & I just change out the botanicals for the seasons.

A Terrific Trunk or Treat!
JINKIES! Trunk or Treat was so much fun & wildly successful. Honey & I had a great time as Shaggy & Daphne from Scooby Doo. {PS - If I've ever wondered if I should dye my hair red, that question has been definitively answered! #HeckNO}
I turned our boring old Suburban {named Red Boy} into The MYSTERY MACHINE with craft paper from Zurchers. The weather was a little damp, so it looks a little more wrinkled in the photos than it would have been otherwise.

A Christmas Table Tour {Our Church Christmas Party}
For our church Christmas dinner party this year, each table was assigned to a different "hostess". She brought her own dishes & centerpiece from home & each table was decorated in her unique style. It was lots of fun, plus the food was delicious! {More about that in a minute.}
Here's a "Tour of Tables" just for you. I'm starting with one of my favorites. It was the only table with blue & it kind of reminded me of Frozen. The battery lights in the tree were the icing on the cake.

Z Gallerie Knock Off Thanksgiving Decor
Our local Studio 5 TV show recently issued me a challenge to create a pumpkin topiary for my next appearance {See link at the end for the video}. Although I adore the traditional thanksgiving colors, I also enjoy mixing it up & using unexpected color combinations for holiday decor. One day while doing some design work, I spied this beautiful display at Z Gallerie . . .

Each Halloween my husband & I enjoy a good, healthy pumpkin-carving contest {this tradition goes all the way back to one of our first dates}. Unfortunately he usually puts my carving to shame. This year, my approach is simple & creative: thinking outside the stencil & incorporating other materials that I have on hand at my house.

Our Christmas Card to You
If you are a regular reader of my blog, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. It means so much!
Here's our Christmas card - featuring our sweet little "Baby Alice". From our family to yours, I wish you a very Merry Christmas. And may the Lord watch over you in the coming year.
We created our own cards with PicMonkey. We had Alice's picture taken at Fotofly. I knew I wanted to use one of the photos for our Christmas card, so I asked the photographer to leave lots of room at the top of some of the shots - so that we could fill it in with our text. It was so great to put whatever text we wanted on our card. I've seen Christmas cards with children holding lights & I wanted to give it a try. The funny thing is, Alice didn't care about the lights at all! I kept having to throw them back up into her lap. Ha ha.
